Ephesians 1:19-21 (NLT)
I also pray that you will understand the incredible greatness of God’s power for us who believe him. This is the same mighty power that raised Christ from the dead and seated him in the place of honor at God’s right hand in the heavenly realms. Now he is far above any ruler or authority or power or leader or anything else—not only in this world but also in the world to come.
Understanding the greatness of God’s power! Paul writes:
1 Corinthians 13:12 (KJV)
For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
The untapped power of Christ Jesus in us is simply amazing when you consider what God through Jesus has already done! I believe, at least this is what I see in my own walk, that it’s far too easy to lose sight on parts of the nature of our Lord.
It’s not difficult to see Jesus as ‘savior’ for most Christians and it’s only moderately more of an effort to continually be mindful of the many facets of His Grace and Providence. When we stop long enough to consider how He provides for us at every turn it’s enough to quickly bring us to a state of awe. But we don’t always do that. We tend to forget. Take back responsibility that we surrendered to Him and find ourselves burdened with a load that doesn’t belong to us.
In fact that very burden inhibits us from realizing our potential as messengers of the Gospel of Jesus!
Given this, it becomes even more of a challenge to comprehend the power of of the Lord let alone His abiding Love and understanding.
But this is something we need to do constantly even though we will never fully appreciate the true nature of His power until we stand with in full view of His radiance. Just as Paul wrote; we look through a foggy glass to see now what we in that day will see clearly. He says we will know God as He knows us!
This is beyond our imagination today because despite our wildest dreams we can not fathom His full power!
Let alone encapsulate the power He has shown us today. But we need to! We need to consider His power and presence in our lives every day. It’s every bit as important as acknowledging His Love and Grace that He pours out on us daily.
It’s important because without considering His power we can not fulfill our need to acknowledge His majesty and thereby be capable of offering up the Glory that is truly His!
There’s ample to remind ourselves of when we consider who He is and what He’s done for us. And if we focus on His Love, Grace, provisioning, guidance, and power; there remains little to draw our eyes away from Him and HIS GLORY!
